Volunteer Thank You Event

Our wonderful volunteers enjoyed a get together and rib feast at Seaside Centre on November 17.  About 75 people attended from Recycling, ReStore, and Construction volunteer teams as well as staff and Board members.  All shared an enjoyable afternoon of conversation and good food.  A huge thank you to the merchants who supported this event. ReStore Manager Dennis Hollis presented each volunteer with a “I HELPED BUILD IT” pin as a token of appreciation for all that these dedicated volunteers do.  

3rd Annual Habitat Harvest

“An Evening of Gourmet Fare, Fine Wines and ReStored Art” on Friday, November 30th at the Sunshine Coast Golf & Country Club. Attendees will enjoy a seven-course dinner with perfectly-paired wines, and interpretation provided by wine steward extraordinaire, Jacquelin George. Local artists have been commissioned to create what “home” means to them, and ReStored “Home” creations will be auctioned by auctioneer extraordinaire, Ed Hill. A New Day For Habitat’s Sunshine Coast Village

Seeing the morning sun come up over the treetops and light up the smiling faces of Shelley McDade, CEO, Sunshine Coast Credit Union, and Ron Pepper, Executive Director, Habitat for Humanity at Sunshine Coast Village was a perfect illustration of brilliant cooperation. With the generous and exclusive sponsorship of Sunshine Coast Credit Union, Habitat is now getting ready for their grand opening of Sunshine Coast Village in Wilson Creek on September 30, and a new beginning for Habitat families. Habitat Harvest Dinner and Dance

In addition to the banquet meal catered by Chasters of Bonnybroook Lodge, the choice of some fine wines, the toe-tapping dance music of the Joe Stanton trio, the variety of silent auction and raffle items, and the chance of winning the GRAND PRIZE, Habitat Harvest attendees will have the opportunity to “Donate a Door” for a home in the Sunshine Village project. Habitat Harvest Dinner, Dance & Auction

The Fund Raising Committee for Habitat for Humanity Sunshine Coast is busy putting the final touches on plans for an evening of feasting, dancing, silently going after auction items or taking a chance on raffle prizes. The highlight of the evening will come when the winner of the GRAND PRIZE  – 3 nights at the Whistler Delta Hotel combined with a Scandinave Spa and Whistler Blackcomb lift experience. Habitat Hoedown Fundraiser Helps Raise the Roof!

The toe-tapping tunes of the Billy Hillpickers and an abundant Southwestern BBQ served up by Chef Spencer Watts drew a colorful and enthusiastic crowd to the Gibsons bluff last Saturday night. The first annual “Habitat Hoedown” was a fundraiser to remember with a sell-out crowd representing some of the Coast’s most passionate community supporters. Habitat Chair Gwen Hawkins and husband Ed sported fetching smiles and dusted off their cowboy boots to welcome long-standing supporters and new friends.
