Development Manager, Part Time, Volunteer Basis

We are seeking an experienced part time, volunteer, development manager. The ideal volunteer will have significant prior experience and may have held the title of Project Manager, Development Manager or Construction Manager in previous roles. This is a flexible role covering a wide range of topics including the following and an opportunity to engage in the community in providing affordable homes in support of Habitat’s mission.
  • Residential construction budget preparation
  • Permit and consultant coordination
  • Initial tendering and contracting for construction
The initial focus will be on completion of the Wilson Creek duplex project with a view towards new projects in the future. The Development Manager will work closely with the local CEO and coordinate with a Construction Manager and Contractors as construction commences.
  • Responsible for the maintenance of the WIPs (Work In Progress), and HFHKLR’s Warranty Program and Tarion Home Warranty Program, including warranty repairs on completed homes
  • Active pursuit of knowledge and participating in HFHI/HFHC programs, policies and procedures
  • Office administrative duties related to building including assisting with month-end financial review and providing website and newsletter updates

  • Work week will require flexibility of schedule as some activities occur in the evening or on weekends
  Qualifications:
  • Extensive experience working in residential construction
  • Project management skills and experience
  • Proven ability to manage volunteers and other workers (including different trades)
  • Excellent communication and networking skills, with proven results
  • Ability to think strategically, multi-task and meet deadlines
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Access to a vehicle
  • Ability to work flexible hours – some nights and weekends
  • Commitment to the mission of Habitat for Humanity Kingston Limestone Region and representing that mission within the community
