What Can I Donate to the ReStore?
Below is a list of some of the items the ReStore can accept.
All items should be complete, of resale quality and free from rips, tears, stains and odours.
Doors & Door Hardware
Garden and Outdoor
Plumbing Fixtures (new & used)
The ReStore hours of operation are 9am-5pm Tuesday through Saturday. Please call the Restore to book a donation drop off time available between 9am-4pm (as our back gate remains closed) OR to arrange a donation pick up by our team. We also welcome you to email the ReStore at email@example.com for this service.
As province wide COVID-19 restrictions ease, wearing a mask in the ReStore is not mandated but a personal choice.
We appreciate your patience and your business during these challenging times. We are in this together!
Frequently Asked Questions
Why doesn't the ReStore give donated furniture directly to a Habitat Family?
Our ReStore relies on purchases and donations to help build homes for local families. We sell direct to the public. Since 2004, we have built 17 homes on the Sunshine Coast funded primarily from ReStore sales. Our families who volunteer in the ReStore receive preferred pricing on all furniture and product.
Will you accept my donation if it is torn/stained/broken?
We rely on revenue from our ReStore to help fund builds for our local families. Therefore, we can only accept gently worn items. Donations must be in good, clean working condition in order to be sold at a reasonable value.
Do I qualify for a tax receipt?
We issue tax receipts for any item donated to the ReStore with a value of $100 or more.
Why can't Habitat take my furniture to the dump for me?
Our mandate is to divert items from the landfill. Unfortunately, we cannot support the cost of taking items to the dump. There are, however, local contractors who provide this service! We encourage you to check the paper in the classifieds section for these resources or ask our drivers for a referral.
